Position Objective
The BOH Supervisor oversees BOH operations on a shift-by-shift basis, ensuring customers receive an excellent experience at the Genesee Brew House. This role is responsible for supporting and supervising staff, responding to customer inquiries and complaints, and being a liaison with FOH staff to ensure a smooth food service. This person will work with the KM to support ordering, food prep, menus, and employee scheduling and development. Report to management on BOH operations, and any ongoing issues or problems.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and support BOH operations on a shift-by-shift basis including the main line, prep cooks, expeditors, and dishwashers
Maintain an excellent quality of food preparation and execution on a shift-by-shift basis
Liaison with management and hourly employees to improve restaurant processes and environment and ensure all food safety measures are met
Follow opening and closing procedures to ensure the kitchen is ready for service and closed down safely
Working knowledge of all BOH programs needed for service including POS System, r365, and Compeat
Excellent knowledge of all kitchen equipment including proper upkeep and maintenance
Modeling proper food handling and safety at all times, and making sure BOH and FOH staff are following correct food handling and safety procedures
Ensuring employees are following all NYS regulations and company policies
Make decisions on staffing for the day including adding/calling off shifts, assigning work areas, and handling any absences
Identify issues with working environments and report them to management
During shift assist employees especially during periods of high volume
Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers and coworkers that fosters an inclusive, safe, and encouraging work environment
Monitor and maintain BOH food, uniform, and equipment inventory. Assist with ordering and invoicing of BOH COGS and supplies as needed
Ensure all checklists and cleaning procedures are completed by staff before, during, and after shifts. Contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Brew
Ensure BOH employees are delivering the best service during shifts and following company policies through coaching, modeling behavior, feedback, and correction if necessary
Contribute to menu and special development, execution and delivery
Represent the Genesee Brand, the Genesee Brew House, and the Genesee Brew House Management team in a positive and professional manner with employees and customers
Record and maintain accurate records including employee documentation and notes for the day in r365.

Core Competencies
Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office
Willingness to obtain Serve Safe Food Safety Manager Level
Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure and de-escalate stressful situations
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
1+ years of experience in a high-volume restaurant in a lead or supervisory capacity
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift)
Ability to bend, reach, kneel, crouch, and climb step stools as needed
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 40lbs (e.g., boxes, food containers, equipment)

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base hourly wage for this position is $22.00-24.00/hour, not including benefits or potential bonuses.
