Job Title: Environmental Services Assistant - Lead - Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, Environmental Services (Part-Time/Per Diem, Evening Shift)Department: Environmental Services Location: Newark-Wayne Community Hospital - 1200 Driving Park Avenue, Newark, NY 14513 Hours Per Week: Per DiemSchedule: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM SUMMARY:Environmental Service is the main defense against serious infections that may linger on surfaces throughout a medical facility. Collaboration between infection prevention and environmental services (EVS) staff limits the prospect of disease transmission within the healthcare environment.Leads a team of Environmental Services Assistants, providing guidance as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluates department scheduling needs and assigns/delegates work to other team members based on the need or the gaps in the schedule. Provides assistance and support as needed to team members.
Is a role model and assists in training new team members in all areas of responsibility to help them be successful in reaching our goal of providing the highest level of service to all.
Forwards detailed notes of any customer comments regarding team members. Note that our customers are our patients / residents, their families, other guests and other RGHS team members in the areas that we serve. Note that the comments may be positive or negative, and that both should be forwarded to the supervisor.
Follows established work instructions and schedules to provide a high level of service.
Perform testing of cleaning quality as directed by the supervisor. Provides feedback as necessary to team members and reports results to the supervisor.May provide inspection summaries as directed or scheduled.
Assists in delivering supplies, equipment, maintenance, room turnover, emergency responses, patient and/or specimen transport and routine housekeeping functions.
May communicate results of testing to both clinical and non-clinical departments as required. Use this opportunity to educate and enhance EVS cleaning performance.
Assuring that all team members are following organizational P&P.(uniform and ID guidelines)
Assuring that all infection control guideline are being met
Retrieving all bio- hazard material for proper disposal.
Oversees the drapery cleaning process.

Able to understand the English language
Able to prioritize and follow verbal and written instructions
Customer service driven
2-4 years experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant.
