SUMMARY:
The Director System Emergency Preparedness will develop and maintain strong working relationships with the community emergency response operations and local and state disaster planning contacts. This individual will represent Rochester Regional Health in community meetings, drills and planning. In addition, the individual in this role will maintain awareness of grant funds available from the community, state and federal resources; including preparing grant requests and managing grant funds. The Director System Emergency Preparedness will bring awareness and consistency to Rochester Regional Health’s emergency response plans. This ensures team members working in the System are prepared for how to respond in an emergency situation to protect their own health and well-being and the safety of our patients and visitors. It also ensures we are prepared to support and serve our community in times of crisis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review and assess the need for emergency response plans at newly acquired sites and points of care.
Assess the effectiveness and consistency of existing emergency response plans.
Prepare recommendations to bring consistency or enhance existing emergency response plans.
Determine where additional communication and potentially drills are required.
Collect, review and maintain all emergency response plans for all locations.
Implement emergency response plans in coordination with safety and risk management officers.
Coordinate emergency response and special event planning activities with federal, state, and city authorities.
Prepare reports, procedures, and documentation that supports the System emergency management function, operations, and plan development;
Coordinate and direct hazard vulnerability assessment by location and type; researches, monitors, and explains policy regulations and operating procedures.
During an emergency or disaster, serve as a key member of the System emergency response and incident command team under the supervision of the Executive Leadership Team.
Maintain relationships with all local and regional first responder agencies and Governmental emergency operations centers.
Research state and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding the implementation of homeland security programs, and ensures system compliance with such regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate’s Degree and 6 years of experience in Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military, or SecurityOR
8 years of experience in Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Management, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military, or Security required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Working with DNV.
Hospital environment.
Grant writing.
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

$110,000.00 - $140,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
