Short Description:Cardiac OR Surgical Technologist36 or 48hr/wk, DEN rotation, weekends, holidays and on call per unit needComplete Description:Job Duties:The Adult Cardiac OR cares for a wide variety of patients, including CABG's, TAVI's, and Heart Failure cases (VAD's, ECMO, Artificial Heart, and Heart Transplants). Using a multidisciplinary approach, the OR staff cares for patients of all ages. The Surgical Technologist will provide technical knowledge in preparing instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures and assist the surgical team from the scrub position during an operation. Responsible for the proper care and handling of instruments and facilitating room turnover between cases. Maintains sterile technique, safe handling of sharps, and performance of surgical counts as per hospital policy. Demonstrates proper handling of solutions and pharmacologic agents under the direction of a registered nurse.
