Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced corporate environment and brings strong invoice processing, reconciliation, and vendor management skills. The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal procedures. Key Responsibilities
Review, code, and process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently. Based on general knowledge.
Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents to ensure proper authorization and documentation. Based on general knowledge.
Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers. Based on general knowledge.
Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies to resolution. Based on general knowledge.
Respond professionally to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payment status and account details. Based on general knowledge.
Maintain accurate accounts payable records, files, and supporting documentation. Based on general knowledge.
Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting support. Based on general knowledge.
Partner with procurement, accounting, and other internal departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely approvals. Based on general knowledge.
Support audit requests and help maintain compliance with company policies and internal controls. Based on general knowledge.
Requirements
Qualifications
2+ years of recent accounts payable experience in a corporate or high-volume processing environment. Based on general knowledge.
Strong understanding of invoice matching, account coding, and payment processing. Based on general knowledge.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or accounting systems. Based on general knowledge.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Based on general knowledge.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service mindset. Based on general knowledge.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. Based on general knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems. Based on general knowledge.
Prior experience in a temp-to-hire or contract accounting role is a plus. Based on general knowledge.
Ability to adapt quickly, take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively. Based on general knowledge.
