This position exists to contribute to the development of integrated transportation plans, studies, and investment programs; coordinating with and participating in state, regional and local planning efforts; and preparing and implementing a program of public involvement. This position carries out professional planning support and analysis in the preparation of statewide, district, modal, system, corridor, and project plans/studies and in the implementation and monitoring of investments in the transportation program.

Minimum Qualifications
Planner Senior Transportation:
Three (3) years of professional level planning experience demonstrating all the following:
Experience leading or coordinating planning studies and/or planning processes.
Experience with public engagement.
Experience preparing professional written communication (e.g., reports, studies, etc.)
Experience preparing and delivering presentations to others.
Please note: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, or Political Science substitutes for one (1) year of experience.
Planner Intermediate:
One (1) year of professional level planning experience demonstrating all the following:
Experience supporting planning studies and/or planning processes.
Experience with public engagement.
Experience preparing professional written communication (e.g., reports, studies, etc.)
Experience preparing and delivering presentations to others.
Please note: A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, or Political Science substitutes for one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications for both classifications:
A Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Communications, Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, or Political Science.
Experience in transportation planning.
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
Experience with planning practices and procedures sufficient to analyze existing legislation/regulations and to develop recommended course of action.
