Responsibilities
Manages staff and the assigned EEG, Gait, and Movement work unit operations within a multi-laboratory division. The supervisor must maintain technical expertise by performing neurodiagnostic procedures on a regular basis.
Advanced proficiency required in any area of hire include but are not limited to:
Communicates effectively with the work unit staff, patients and other medical center employees. Provide timely communication to upper leadership, including hospital, laboratory, and department.
Monitors daily work processes, supplies, and staff to improve work unit efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Is accountable Provides direction for day-to-day operations, quality and service, and work unit safety.
Responsible for coordinating staffing within the work unit(s) to ensure that all patient studies are completed, duties are assigned and that tasks are completed each day. The supervisor covers an assignment if needed.
Coordinates breaks, training, quality assurance tasks, staffing to workload, strategic planning activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
Acts as the liaison between physicians, technologists, clinical assistants, etc. within the work unit. Must work collaboratively with the other CND Supervisors across the enterprise as well as external vendors.
Consistently demonstrates strong autonomy, critical thinking skills, and able to implement and manage change.
Must have demonstrated advanced leadership abilities including excellent verbal and written communication, effective problem solving, and organizational skills.
Requires human relations skills to influence and motivate others. Facilitates a positive work environment and acts as a coach and mentor to the allied health staff within the work unit(s).
Must have broad base knowledge of computer functions supporting work unit operation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required or must be completed within two years of hire.
A minimum of five years’ experience in a Neurodiagnostic/Sleep Medicine Laboratory is required.
Must be a current Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to apply. Within two years of employment, specific certification through ABRET – Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (R. EEG T., R. EP T., CNIM, CLTM and CAP); American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM; CNCT) and/or AAET – The Nerve Conduction Association (R.NCS.T.) is required in the laboratory of hire.
Must have current certification in Basic Life Support.
Must have the ability to work unexpected hours, which may include days, evenings, nights and weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.
