Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Material Handler to join our team. This role requires operating forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, while adhering to safety and manufacturing practices. You will coordinate closely with the Loading Dock Supervisor and Shipping Manager to ensure accurate documentation and traceability of products. Your role will also involve maintaining equipment and work areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
Shift: First
Pay: 15-17/hr
Responsibilities
Report to the work area fit for duty as a forklift/powered industrial equipment operator.
Attend and successfully complete the Forklift Operator’s Course prior to operating any type of forklift on the property.
Follow all Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Preventive Controls Rules, and Occupational Safety Rules.
Coordinate with the Loading Dock Supervisor to ensure all product is 100% accounted for proper traceability.
Assist in ensuring all transfers from the Shelling Plant are properly documented.
Assist the Shipping Manager when needed to complete maintenance tasks.
Ensure product does not have any risk of becoming cross contaminated with other allergens prior to loading or unloading lots.
Follow Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Maintain forklifts in a clean and sanitary condition as described in the Master Sanitation Schedule.
Properly fill out Forklift Daily Logs to ensure equipment is in good running order.
Maintain the Cold Storage areas in accordance with the Safe Food Plan and Master Sanitation Schedule and Preventive Control Rules.
Maintain wall clearances of 18” to avoid potential pest activities and infestations.
Assist the Shipping Manager in the efficient and cost-effective shipping of finished product to customers.
Follow all shipping instructions required by each specific customer.
Load trailers in accordance with all legal weight requirements.
Report, document, and correct any discrepancies to customer or regulatory guidelines.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Shipping Manager.
Operate all forklifts, man-lifts, and scissor-lifts in accordance with safety policies.
Attend a refresher Forklift Operator Course every two years.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Peanut Shelling.
Essential Skills
High School Diploma or GED required.
Understanding of production and plant processes.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to work in a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Forklift experience preferred.
Ability to work in shifts, including late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochelle, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $22.40/hr.
