Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute comprehensive environmental impact assessments and sustainability audits across all organizational operations and facilities to establish baseline performance metrics and identify compliance gaps.

  • Develop and implement sustainability programs focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and carbon footprint minimization in accordance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify areas for process optimization and resource efficiency improvements, with documented findings and recommendations.

  • Design and oversee renewable energy projects and green infrastructure initiatives aligned with organizational goals and technical specifications.

  • Prepare detailed sustainability reports and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance purposes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of submissions.

  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and management teams to integrate sustainable practices into project planning and execution phases.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives using key performance indicators and data analytics to ensure measurable outcomes.

  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices in sustainability engineering.

  • Develop and support sustainability policies and procedures that align with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff on sustainability practices and environmental compliance protocols.

  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with LEED, Mostadam, LEED for Cities, and Mostadam for Communities rating systems.

  • Lead the full LEED and Mostadam certification process from registration through final approval.

  • Ensure strict compliance with Saudi environmental laws, NCEC requirements, RCRC requirements, and SBC sustainability codes.

  • Oversee construction-phase sustainability, waste management, pollution prevention, and material compliance throughout project lifecycle.

  • Support energy efficiency, water conservation, and low-carbon initiatives with measurable targets and accountability measures.

  • Conduct sustainability audits, prepare progress reports, and maintain comprehensive project documentation for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, authorities, and certification bodies to facilitate approvals and certifications.

  • Deliver sustainability training and awareness sessions to project teams to ensure organizational alignment and compliance.

  • Define and enforce documentation protocols for both sustainability and environmental compliance across all projects.

  • Ensure comprehensive understanding of multi-building project approaches and credit applicability requirements.

  • Ensure timely registration under applicable sustainability rating systems and secure required environmental approvals.

  • Coordinate with design and construction teams to integrate environmental protection measures and sustainability requirements into shop drawings and method statements.

  • Oversee and verify compliance in material submittals, procurement processes, and environmental product declarations.

  • Monitor implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Waste Management Plan, and Pollution Prevention Plan, ensuring full alignment with sustainability targets and environmental regulations.

  • Conduct regular environmental and sustainability audits per applicable rating systems (LEED, Mostadam, Envision) and environmental legislation.

  • Review final documentation packages for both environmental compliance and sustainability credits before submission for approval.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in sustainability engineering, environmental compliance, and environmental impact assessment

  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification or equivalent sustainability accreditation

  • Demonstrated expertise in carbon footprint analysis, energy efficiency optimization, and comprehensive environmental impact assessment methodologies

  • Advanced proficiency in sustainability metrics, life cycle assessment, and data analytics platforms

  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental regulations, compliance standards, and sustainability frameworks, with particular expertise in Saudi environmental law and NCEC requirements

  • Proven experience delivering LEED and Mostadam certified projects in Saudi Arabia

  • Strong technical writing and communication capabilities for preparing regulatory documentation and compliance reports

  • Excellent project management competencies with demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives concurrently

  • Proficiency with CAD software, GIS systems, energy modeling software, and sustainability reporting tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification

  • MOSTADAM Accredited Professional (MOSTADAM AP) or Envision Sustainability Professional (Envision SP) certification

  • LEED for Cities or Mostadam for Communities accreditation

  • WELL Building Standard or equivalent certification

  • Specialized expertise in renewable energy systems design and implementation

  • Advanced knowledge of waste management and circular economy principles

  • Extensive experience with large-scale developments including commercial, residential, mixed-use, or infrastructure projects

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) development and implementation

  • Professional experience working with multi-building projects and complex certification requirements in the Middle Eastern region
