Job Description
The Legal Counsel for KSA will:
regularly interact and work with members of the KSA team as well as attending client meetings.
develop a detailed knowledge of the laws, policies and procedures that apply to AECOM KSA.
use their best endeavours to ensure that AECOM's staff are aware of and comply with all applicable laws, policies and procedures and the laws.
The role includes, but is not limited to the following:
Day-to-day activities for the legal function and legal responsibilities of AECOM throughout KSA.
Providing proactive, solutions focused, legally sound advice and support in a timely fashion to the AECOM KSA business.
Reviewing and advising on all legal documents executed by AECOM, including tender documents, contracts, employment agreements, MoUs, PCGs and bonds.
Support AECOM KSA business leads in relation to key pursuits and other strategic operational matters.
Advising on AECOM's responsibilities and minimizing AECOM's risks under applicable ethics and compliance laws and regulations.
Providing regular training on topical legal issues.
Assisting with ensuring compliance with AECOM's policies and procedures, corporate governance requirements and applicable laws.
Where appropriate, assisting with and participating in project reviews and audits.
Developing and managing standard form and sample documents (e.g. Consultancy contract, sub-consultancy contract, etc.).
Qualifications
Minimum four (8) years post admission experience is required.
Ability to speak and read Arabic.
The following experience is strongly desirable:
Top tier law firm experience.
Middle East experience required with KSA experience highly desirable.
Multi-national corporation experience.
US corporate understanding.
Strong litigation or back-end skills.
Strong contracts capabilities and experience.
Construction / engineering industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor of Laws from a reputable university.
A current practicing certificate is preferred.

Areas of Responsibility:
The role covers all legal issues impacting AECOM KSA, which include but are not limited to the following:
Compliance
Matters relating to AECOM'S obligations under applicable ethics and compliance related laws in the KSA, and other relevant jurisdictions, as well as policies and procedures (both external and internal).
Contracts
Matters relating to all contract documents, including the reviewing, advising and negotiating of contracts between AECOM and other parties. The role may also require assisting on our major programs of work throughout KSA by providing contract management and administration support.
Corporate
Matters relating to the operation of AECOM's business, including but not limited to company governance and HR related matters.
Dispute resolution
Matters relating to the assessing, managing, reporting on and negotiating the closure of disputes between AECOM and other parties.
Governance
Matters relating to the structure, formation, operation and liquidation of the legal entities for AECOM and company secretariat matters.
Risk management
Matters relating to the implementation of risk management initiatives, the development and management of risk management strategy, and oversight for risk management.
Training
Providing legally related training to the business when appropriate.
