Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk in Riviera Beach, Florida
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Riviera Beach, Florida. This is a contract position with the potential for long-term employment, offering a dynamic work environment with a mix of in-office and remote days. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure the accurate and efficient management of accounts receivable functions.
Responsibilities:
• Generate and distribute customer invoices, ensuring accuracy through a thorough 3-way matching process.
• Accurately process incoming payments via checks, credit cards, and electronic transfers, applying them to appropriate customer accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts, investigating and resolving any discrepancies between company and customer records.
• Prepare and analyze accounts receivable aging reports, identifying trends and recommending actionable improvements.
• Monitor and manage customer credit, including assisting with credit checks and recommending appropriate credit limits.
• Communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and other departments to address inquiries and resolve issues.
• Maintain organized and accurate records of collection activities and customer interactions.
• Utilize customer portals for invoice submissions and ensure proper tracking of all invoices in the designated system.
• Post daily cash receipts, ensuring all payments are accounted for and applied correctly.
• Support collection efforts to maintain timely cash flow and follow up on outstanding balances. Requirements • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant bookkeeping or accounts receivable experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience with accounting systems such as Microsoft Great Plains, Microsoft Business Central, or Epicor is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to ensure accuracy in records and reporting.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and accounts payable/receiving resolution is a plus.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
