Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Riviera Beach, Florida

Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Riviera Beach, Florida. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in managing financial records, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate billing and payments. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized individual with strong analytical skills to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain both electronic and paper-based job files, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely opening or closing of files.

• Monitor the status of ongoing jobs, reconcile job costs, and manage close-out paperwork for completed projects.

• Calculate costs and percentages for progress billings, preparing and posting customer invoices accordingly.

• Apply credit memos, customer payments, and maintain accounts receivable balances in alignment with the general ledger.

• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation.

• Process vendor invoices and company credit card statements, posting them accurately in accounts payable.

• Maintain organized records of paid and outstanding payables and receivables, ensuring all files are up-to-date.

• Reconcile job costs with the trial balance and investigate any discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy.

• Obtain and process credit card payments from customers in a secure and efficient manner.

• Manage special discounts, tax exemptions, and credit rates for customer accounts as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other accounting software, with QuickBooks experience being a plus.

• Strong organizational and communication abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to a collaborative work environment.

• Demonstrated skills in administrative writing, data entry, and invoice processing.

• Basic understanding of mathematics and accounting principles to handle financial tasks accurately.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies.

• Capacity to handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a combination of education and six months of related experience.
