Job Description:
Reviews staffing and census of all nursing units to ensure consistency with budget and patient needs, adjusting staff as necessary. Facilitates patient admissions and patient flow. Makes frequent rounds throughout the hospital to assess and resolve issues and incidents. Provides consultation to staff as needed. Promotes good interpersonal relations between all departments. Assists staff in obtaining equipment and supplies as needed. Provides crisis intervention for all hospital departments. Responds to and leads all code events. Assists in handling emergency surgery by contacting Surgical Services and Cardiac Cath Lab staff on call. Communicates shift occurrences through the daily Administrative Supervisor record. Assures documentation of incidents into Risk Master. Serves as mentor to Departmental Shift Supervisors and Charge Nurses by providing guidance in problem-solving, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Thorough understanding of hospital policies, procedures and legal aspects of acute care nursing [Required]
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Basic computer skills [Required]
• Previous nursing management experience [Preferred]
• Previous experience with Cerner electronic medical record [Preferred]
Education:
• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• N/A
Work Experience:
• 3+ years experience in acute patient care [Required]
• Critical Care or Emergency Department experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Required]
