Job Title: Assembler C / Service and Repair Associate

Job Description

The Assembler C / Service and Repair Associate plays a key role in the manufacturing process of medical products by operating multiple machines, assembling and repairing devices, and performing routine inspections to ensure products meet strict quality specifications. This role supports cost-effective production and maintenance activities, including process improvement, supply chain support, quality assurance, employee safety, and environmental stewardship. The position focuses on decontaminating, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing medical devices while adhering to defined safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements. The associate works under a moderate degree of supervision, applies acquired knowledge to complete standard tasks, and collaborates closely with the quality team to investigate and report defects and root causes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple machines simultaneously in the manufacturing area to support the production of medical products.

  • Perform routine inspections of manufactured products to ensure they meet established quality specifications and standards.

  • Capture manufactured parts in designated bins and prepare them for transport according to processing standards.

  • Decontaminate medical devices in preparation for troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair activities.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with medical devices, escalating complex or unusual problems to a supervisor when needed.

  • Carry out equipment functional testing and calibration to verify proper operation and performance.

  • Perform repair activities on medical devices based on diagnostic findings and test results.

  • Conduct basic electronic component assembly and disassembly with appropriate knowledge and competence.

  • Ensure adequate stock levels and proper handling of equipment, materials, consumables, and spare parts to support continuous operations.

  • Proactively anticipate equipment and material needs, set priorities, and complete assigned tasks within expected timeframes.

  • Report defects and nonconformities in manufactured products and collaborate with the quality team to investigate and identify root causes.

  • Perform all duties in compliance with company, local, state, and federal safety rules, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Follow clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods in all assembly, service, and repair activities.

  • Adhere to all quality guidelines and documentation requirements throughout the production and repair processes.

  • Maintain required licenses, training, and certifications necessary to perform assigned tasks.

  • Work on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution using acquired knowledge and established methods.

  • Seek guidance from supervisors for complex or unusual issues and participate in regular reviews of work output.

  • Support continuous improvement in cost of production, process efficiency, and environmental commitment through careful execution of daily tasks.

Essential Skills

  • 1–2 years of related work experience in assembly, service, repair, or a similar technical role.

  • Hands-on experience with assembly processes, preferably in a medical device or regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to perform medical device assembly and basic mechanical assembly tasks with attention to detail.

  • Competence in basic electronic component assembly and disassembly.

  • Ability to operate multiple machines and follow standard operating procedures accurately.

  • Strong troubleshooting and basic diagnostic skills for equipment and device issues.

  • Ability to perform equipment functional testing and calibration following defined methods.

  • Knowledge of quality guidelines and the ability to perform inspections against quality specifications.

  • Ability to work safely and comply with company, local, state, and federal safety regulations.

  • Capacity to learn and apply new information, methods, and procedures quickly in the assigned area.

  • Ability to work under a moderate degree of supervision and accept regular review of work output.

  • Effective organization skills to anticipate needs, prioritize tasks, and manage stock of equipment, materials, and spare parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical device assembly processes is preferred.

  • Familiarity with mechanical assembly in a production or repair environment.

  • Experience working within clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods.

  • Comfort working in a quality-focused, regulated environment with documented processes.

  • Willingness to maintain and update relevant licenses, training, and certifications as required.

  • Strong sense of responsibility for product quality, safety, and compliance.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with quality and supervisory teams when investigating defects and root causes.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and repair environment dedicated to medical devices, where you will operate multiple machines and handle equipment, materials, consumables, and spare parts on a daily basis. Work follows clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Activities include decontamination, assembly, testing, calibration, and repair of medical devices in a controlled setting. You will work under a moderate degree of supervision, with regular review of your output by a work lead or supervisor, and will collaborate closely with quality and operations teams. The environment requires consistent adherence to safety rules and guidelines at the company, local, state, and federal levels, and supports maintaining current licenses, training, and certifications relevant to the role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverview, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
