Central Wyoming College Nursing Instructor in RIVERTON, Wyoming

  1. Instruct classroom, lab, and clinical components of assigned nursing and allied health courses.
  2. Collaboratively develop and implement a concept-based course plan in a team-based learning format.
  3. Examine and make recommendations for instructional resources to the faculty team.
  4. Facilitate student learning by providing a safe and supportive environment and encouraging active student participation.
  5. Use innovative instructional strategies and emerging technologies to enhance learning.
  6. Facilitate distance education delivery and provide support to off-campus students.
  7. Use knowledge of diverse communities and skill sets to customize effective teaching methods.
  8. Evaluate student learning and performance and provide timely formative feedback.
  9. Maintain accurate and complete course records, and enter student engagement ratings and final grades in accordance with established deadlines.
  10. Foster effective working relationships with the healthcare team to provide a comprehensive and safe environment for students' clinical learning experiences.
  11. Work with clinical preceptors to develop an instructional plan outlining clinical learning experiences and to assess students' clinical performance.
  12. Provide a high level of evidence-based nursing care to patients.
  13. Function as a role model for professional nursing and communicate this role to students.
  14. Share pertinent student information with colleagues, including but not limited to progress reports, attendance records, and academic difficulty issues.
  15. Assist students with degree planning and conduct regularly scheduled advisement sessions to discuss progress toward achieving learning outcomes.
  16. Provide a workload schedule showing instructional and office hours.
  17. Oversee the efficient use of supplies and equipment in the college laboratory and clinical areas.
  18. Participate in annual and five-year academic program review, including assessment of student learning at the course, program, and institutional level, using feedback to make improvements.
  19. Assist with positive program promotion and recruitment.
  20. Assume responsibility for professional development and continuing licensure requirements.
  21. Fulfill responsibilities in a professional manner and in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
