Job Description
Job Summary
The Reliability Technician is responsible for testing, analyzing, and documenting the performance and failures of irrigation products and components. This role focuses on identifying failure modes, determining root causes, and supporting corrective actions through hands-on testing, data analysis, and technical reporting. The position works closely with Failure Analysis and cross-functional teams to improve product reliability and quality.
This is a 1st shift role (Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm) with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
Conduct hands-on testing of irrigation products, subassemblies, components, and materials in both laboratory and field environments
Disassemble products and components to investigate potential manufacturing, design, installation, or service-related failures
Examine parts for defects and identify root causes of product failures
Set up and execute test plans under operational conditions to evaluate performance and reliability
Collect, organize, and analyze test data to identify failure trends and support corrective actions
Record test procedures and results in databases and prepare clear written reports
Collaborate with Failure Analysis and other internal teams to review priorities, test plans, and findings
Provide technical input and subject matter expertise to support problem resolution and product improvements
Perform additional duties as needed to support reliability and quality objectives
Pay is $20-$26/hr.

Skills and Requirements
3–5 years of related hands-on technical experience in product testing, failure analysis, or mechanical environments
Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators, and tensile/load testers
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and test procedures
Strong technical writing skills, including preparing test reports
Experience using computers and software tools, including spreadsheet applications
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on work involving standing, sitting, walking, and manual dexterity Apprenticeship or formal training in mechanics, mechanical design, or plastics
Knowledge of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles
Experience with statistical or reliability analysis concepts such as frequency distributions, variance analysis, correlation techniques, or sampling theory
Prior experience supporting corrective action processes or cross-functional engineering teams
Familiarity with manufacturing, design, installation, or service-related failure modes
