Collins Aerospace is looking for a Principal Specialist, EH&S Generalist to join our team in Riverside, California. In this role you will design, develop, implement and oversee the organization’s Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and procedures to safeguard our employees and the environment. You will ensure that the organization is compliant with all corporate and city/state/federal policies and regulations applicable to EH&S. This role will report directly to the EH&S Senior Manager.

This position will primarily be focused on air emission compliance to meet existing Title V facility permit conditions as well as applicable rules in the SCAQMD. A successful candidate will apply for permits, prepare for and host internal and regulatory audits, monitor upcoming proposed regulations and get involved in working groups to ensure rules are developed to accommodate facility manufacturing needs and provide input to rule development process. Position will assist in other areas of environmental, health, and safety as needed and develop expertise in the EH&S function outside of air emission compliance.

What You Will Do:

  • Implements initiatives that drive continuous improvement in company and regulatory EH&S programs

  • Professional tracks are available with a focus in H&S or Environmental with a focus on air compliance, or a combination of all EH&S programs, with sustainability and security management aspects of the role possible.

  • Conducts in-depth analysis (audits, inspections, GEMBAs) of the business for opportunities to determine compliance.

  • Collaborates with site employees to define controls for EHS programs.

  • Assesses EHS impacts and supports/develops/implements programs to reduce risk as well as achieve and maintain compliance.

  • Manages environmental permits and reporting criteria.

  • Support the EH&S team in managing hazardous waste, stormwater compliance, and security protocols.

  • Establishes and tracks plans to achieve and maintain compliance and to reduce risk.

  • Supports business partners' facilities and employee practices to achieve and maintain understanding and compliance with EH&S regulations.

  • Creates and provides effective training to different levels of the organization.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 5% of the time

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

  • 2+ years experience in Environmental or Health or Safety in a manufacturing environment

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Prior experience managing and leading project teams or leading major initiatives.

  • Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering

  • Lean manufacturing experience (Kaizen, Six Sigma etc)

  • Aerospace experience

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
