Position: General Ranch Worker.

Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 75 lbs on a continued basis. Must be able to ride horses and/or ATV in order to move the livestock safely. Must have 3 months experience and provide (1) reference from previous employer with knowledge of applicants skills. If related experience is older than 2 years, a second reference with contact information is required. A signed contract may be required. Must be able to lift 75 pounds on a continued basis. Workers will be expected to work in conditions normally associated with Colorado climatic conditions. There will be exposure to extreme temperatures. Will be extensive pushing or pulling, with extensive sitting or walking. Frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements. 

Job Description: Attend to livestock feeds and waters livestock by tractor and/or team on range or at ranch headquarters calving, maintaining cattle herd health. Builds & cleans corrals. Wean calves, vaccinations and pregnancy check cows. Moves livestock to pasture for grazing. Assist with castration of livestock, and identification marking. Maintain all corrals, cabins, buildings, range improvements, and livestock equipment used for proper cattle management. Cleans livestock stalls and sheds, using disinfectant solutions, brushes and shovels. Must have knowledge of repair of fences for the safety of animals, irrigation knowledge and management, planting, cultivating and harvesting hay for livestock. Maintain ranch buildings. Maintain equipment in a working condition and observe safe practices. Assist with the shipping of cows and calves. Workers must be willing and able to perform all duties according to the employers requirements during the contract period. All materials and tools will be provided by the employer at no cost to the worker. 

Anticipated Hours of Work Per Week: 48 hours per week.

Schedule: Monday thru Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Longer hours (night shifts during calving) and more days (up to 7 days per week) may be required when feeding cows supplemental rations, calving season, irrigation and haying season.

Anticipated Period of Employment: 3/01/2026 thru 12/15/2026.

Job Location: Rifle Co. area.

Pay: $20.02 per hour.

Effective 1/1/25: Overtime must be paid after 48 hours/week, or 56 hours/week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers.
