Lab Animal Technician

Contract @ $25-30/hour

Job Description

Our client is a reputable pharmaceutical manufacturing company who is seeking a Lab Animal Tech to assist the care and enrichment of both routine and specialized animal colonies, as well as the cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • This includes cage preparation, operation of cage and rack washers, and use of environmental monitoring systems.

  • The role requires routine animal handling, observation, reporting of abnormalities, adherence to veterinary guidance, and monitoring of environmental conditions.

  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all assigned duties in accordance with SOPs

  • Supporting quality assurance efforts, including record review and identification of deficiencies

  • Assisting in the training and development of team members

  • Contributing to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies, equipment, or processes to enhance the animal care program

Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in an animal research facility or veterinary practice (required)

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field (preferred)

  • AALAS certification (highly desirable)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
