Cabela's Transportation Assistant Manager in Ridgedale, United States

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Transportation Assistant Manager supports the Transportation Logistics Manager in overseeing all transportation services within the resort, ensuring seamless and efficient transport for guests and staff. This role focuses on upholding service quality, maintaining safety standards, coordinating schedules, managing team performance, and addressing guest needs promptly. The Transportation Assistant Manager collaborates with other resort departments to optimize transportation operations, support event logistics, and contribute to guest satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily transportation operations, ensuring that transportation schedules run on time, coordinating with drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff.

  • Monitor and manage fleet usage, optimizing vehicle availability and reducing downtime.

  • Supervise and support the transportation team, including drivers, coordinators, and other support staff while assisting in training, developing, & evaluating team members to ensure excellent customer service, tracking team performance, providing constructive feedback, and addressing performance-related issues.

  • Develop shift schedules and ensure proper staffing levels during peak and off-peak times.

  • Promote a culture of exceptional guest service within the transportation team, address guest transportation needs, ensure timely and courteous service, including resolving guest concerns or complaints, providing quick and effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with other resort departments to coordinate transportation for special events, excursions, or group bookings.

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members follow resort and legal transportation regulations by staying updated on and enforce transportation regulations, ensuring compliance with local laws and organizational safety standards/procedures.

  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles for cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs and coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule timely vehicle inspections and repairs.

  • Assist the Transportation Manager in managing the department budget, including tracking operational expenses, optimize costs, and recommend improvements.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on fleet performance, team productivity, and guest satisfaction.

  • Identify trends or areas for improvement and recommend initiatives to the Manager.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Years of experience: 2_

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and guest service abilities.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.

  • Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and vehicle maintenance.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.

  • Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • As needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly walks, sits, stands, and does computer work.

Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
