POSITION SUMMARY:
The Premium Server has the responsibility to serve all guests in an assigned station by providing courteous, knowledgeable and efficient service that meets and exceeds guest’s dining expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports a strong commitment to world class guest service and ensures a pleasant and enjoyable dining experience for restaurant patrons.
Completes training requirements and follows service standards as trained.
Greets guests promptly and courteously in assigned workstation.
Understands and executes established procedures for verifying guest’s ability to legally purchase and consume alcohol and knows how to prevent a guest from overindulging.
Knowledgeable with all food and beverage offerings as well as allergens in menu items.
Knowledgeable with spirits, beers and cocktails and is able to describe each, making recommendations.
Knowledgeable with wines and wine pairings, assisting guests with selecting wines with food.
Effectively uses suggestive selling techniques.
Records food and beverage orders, enters orders into computer system, monitors status of order preparation and safely transports order from kitchen to guest.
Monitors and addresses guest needs during meal.
Collects monies owed for food and beverages and properly performs all guest check accountability procedures.
Performs tip declaration activities and compensates indirectly tipped associates, i.e., Bussers, Bartenders, Runners, as per established service procedures.
Performs daily cleaning activities.
Performs food running and station set-up / break-down responsibilities as assigned.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred Degree: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certificate(s) or License(s): Ability to obtain valid food permit for the county in which the restaurant is located and ServSafe alcohol permit
Years of experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in fine dining
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
Experience in and passion for consumer service
Willingness to learn new skills and be a team player
An attitude of flexibility and mindfulness about the team approach
Learn all menus and is able to communicate all food and beverage offerings
Clean and clear service areas
Follow proper procedures as disclosed in Standard Operating Procedures as explained to staff
Ability to memorize and become knowledgeable of menu items
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly walks, sits, stands, and does computer work.
Occasionally lifts up to 50 lbs.
INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :
Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
☒ Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
