Saalex is seeking an Engineering Technician VI -Model Maker in China Lake, CA. Saalex is an Engineering and Information Technology Services company with a focus on Test Range Operations and Management, Engineering and Logistics Services, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Services and Information Technology Services.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $29.95-47.50 hourly (Depending upon experience)
Work Location: Fully onsite.
Job Summary:
The Model Maker Incumbent will be responsible for performing high-precision machining tasks within the Model Shop Branch of the AMTD. This role is essential for manufacturing machined hardware used in a variety of projects at NAWCWD China Lake. The successful candidate will be a skilled machinist with experience in both manual and CNC machining, capable of producing complex components to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate lathes, mills, and other machine shop machines to fabricate components.
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate production.
Maintain equipment, ensuring it is in good working order.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes.
Adhere to all safety protocols and quality standards.
Requirements
Required:
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant machining experience.
Proficiency in operating lathes, mills, and various machining equipment.
Must have strong attention to detail and precision.
Must have problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Certifications: Relevant certifications are a plus and will be considered valuable.
Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Active Secret Clearance preferred. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
