Job Title: Project Manager

Job Description

The project manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing contract orders according to agreed deadlines while ensuring projects remain within budget. This role involves managing contract orders from receipt through to the shipping of final documentation, ensuring zero broken promises to customers. The project manager is also responsible for supporting sales companies and customers during the quotation phase, depending on the service level agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quote support to sales companies.

  • Manage orders in a global environment.

  • Review customer technical specifications to understand contract requirements and meet with sales and customers to clarify design parameters.

  • Assemble a project team to generate necessary documents, drawings, weld maps, and calculations for customer submission.

  • Create and manage design schedules in relation to ERP systems to ensure complete planning and accurate cost calculations.

  • Ensure document packages are complete and correct, submit them for customer approval, and revise based on feedback.

  • Order key components from sister facilities and local suppliers, providing design criteria to assure accurate production.

  • Plan all outside service activities to support fabrication according to customer specifications.

  • Plan customer inspection activities to meet requirements.

  • Conduct meetings with customers and customer inspectors as needed.

  • Ensure shop documents are generated, reviewed, and approved.

  • Conduct release meetings with shop floor, QA, and project team to review order specifics and timelines.

  • Monitor orders through production, shipment, and invoicing, managing changes as necessary.

  • Coordinate outside service activities with the shop floor and manage customer inspections.

  • Work closely with sales companies to meet financial targets and identify opportunities to enhance order margins.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical manufacturing environment experience.

  • Experience in project management for similar applications and customers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Drive, tenacity, and stress tolerance.

  • Customer service orientation and management control skills.

  • Decisiveness and critical thinking.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • PMP Certification (desired).

  • Experience in mechanical, chemical, or industrial engineering.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as D365 and Microsoft Dynamics.

  • Experience managing multiple projects at different stages.

Work Environment

The role involves working on-site Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $52.88/hr.
