We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and installation of sewer applications, coordination with engineering consultants and contractors, and the development of project cost estimates. The role includes ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations, making recommendations based on complex data evaluations, and producing both routine and specialized reports.
Responsibilities
Design and install sewer applications.
Coordinate with engineering consultants and contractors.
Develop project cost estimates.
Specify equipment and review plans and specifications.
Compile, verify, and assemble complex information.
Produce and review routine and specialized reports.
Evaluate policy, program, or plan effectiveness based on complex data.
Make recommendations and issue reports.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations for assigned projects.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, preferably civil discipline.
3 years of professional engineering experience.
Proficiency in design, civil engineering, and AutoCAD.
Experience in project management and VDOT.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of civil engineering standards and practices.
Understanding of design standards and industry construction standards.
Familiarity with manuals such as MUTCD, roadway design standards, and VDOT design standards.
Experience with city bridge and roads standards.
Knowledge of procurement laws for design consultant selection and contractors.
Understanding of Federal and state laws for project implementation.
Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret GIS maps and AutoCAD plans.
Strong mathematical skills including geometry, calculus, and statistics.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage and supervise others.
Experience in construction management and concrete analysis and design.
Work Environment
The position requires working 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, in an office setting. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $42.12 - $68.34/hr.
