Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP Bridge Engineer-Intern in Richmond, Virginia
Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers with the design and analysis of highway and transit-related bridges and structures.
- Support project teams with preparing plans, reports, and calculations.
- Perform fieldwork including bridge inspections and data collection, as needed.
- Conduct research and apply engineering principles to solve real-world design challenges.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a professional engineering environment.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a bachelors or master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Strong interest in bridge and transportation engineering.
- Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); exposure to engineering software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD, or structural analysis programs) is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
