Job Description
Richmond Beverage Solutions, a DFA company, is seeking Maintenance Mechanics to join our team!!
Perform maintenance/mechanical work to ensure all equipment operates safely, effectively, and efficiently. Responsibilities include general and preventative maintenance, overhauls, modifications, fabrication, welding, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. Work with limited supervision and support less‑experienced colleagues as needed.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform planned, unplanned, and emergency maintenance on production, processing, packaging, and utility equipment following all safety procedures
Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections to assess equipment reliability and performance
Read and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders
Support installation of new equipment
Assist operators with troubleshooting and training to reduce downtime
Complete work orders accurately and on time while maintaining high quality
Use hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material‑handling equipment
Communicate with other departments and management regarding issues affecting production
Ensure all repairs and required information are clearly and accurately documented per SOPs
Stay current on new equipment, technology, products, and techniques
Apply continuous improvement mindset to identify process enhancements
Anticipate parts requirements, follow proper purchasing procedures, and secure parts in advance
Maintain safe working conditions and comply with all state and federal health and safety regulations
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in accordance with corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Trade/technical school preferred (electrical, PLC/HMI, mechanical, welding/fabrication, refrigeration, plumbing, etc.)
2–4 years of maintenance experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, computer‑controlled equipment, PLC, HVAC, or related fields—preferably in manufacturing
Experience with a variety of equipment including lubrication, cleaning, material handling, motor/relay control, process control, and packaging equipment
Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred
Certification and/or license may be required during employment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to perform electrical work (change pump motors, diagnose motor control issues)
Knowledge of pneumatics, solenoid valves, and air cylinders
Ability to safely use standard maintenance tools
Ability to complete minor projects from planning to installation (non‑sanitary piping, drain lines, vacuum lines)
Ability to perform routine repairs safely and efficiently (pump rebuilds, boiler maintenance, HVAC, VFDs, sanitary valves, piping leaks)
Ability to complete routine preventative maintenance, identify abnormal conditions, and maintain required records
Ability to perform basic welding for repair and fabrication (TIG/stick)
Ability to follow process‑control computer variables and schematics and diagnose system issues
Ability to assist other mechanics with complex repairs
Strong interpersonal skills to foster cooperation and communicate effectively
Basic computer skills
