ManpowerGroup Lab Technician 1 in Richmond, California

Our client, the refining and hydroprocessing industry, is seeking a Lab Technician 1 to join their team. As a Lab Technician 1, you will be part of the Research and Development department supporting catalyst testing and process development activities. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Richmond, CA

Pay Range: $26.46

Shift: 9/80 work schedule

What's the Job?

  • Execute laboratory tasks for testing refining catalysts and hydrocarbon feedstocks/products under supervision.

  • Handle testing units, collect, blend, store, and inspect samples, including potentially hazardous chemicals.

  • Operate analytical equipment to gather feed and product characterization data and prepare summary reports.

  • Support operation of complex bench scale units for catalyst evaluation, monitoring temperature and pressure conditions.

  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory analytics and testing systems, ensuring good housekeeping practices.

What's Needed?

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry or a related science field.

  • Laboratory work experience, including safe handling of chemicals and operation of analytical/testing equipment.

  • Knowledge of experimental process monitoring, lab equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Awareness of safety requirements when working with hazardous chemicals, high-pressure, and high-temperature units.

  • Preferred experience with operation of testing units at elevated temperatures and pressures, and mechanical skills for assembling piping and testing equipment.
