Job Title: Millwright

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Millwright to assist in the preventative and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment. This role involves performing and enhancing our Preventative Maintenance program, as well as assisting with mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics. You will interpret drawings, machine parts from sketches, samples, or plans, and install, move, and modify equipment as needed. It is crucial to follow all maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory codes while maintaining a safe work environment. Continuous skill upgrading is encouraged, and all work must be documented through our CMMS system.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preventative and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

  • Perform and enhance the Preventative Maintenance program.

  • Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics.

  • Interpret drawings and machine parts from sketches, samples, or plans.

  • Install, move, and modify equipment as required.

  • Follow maintenance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory codes.

  • Maintain a safe work environment.

  • Document all work carried out through the CMMS system.

Essential Skills

  • Red Seal ticketed Millwright, Tool and Die maker, Machine Tool Builder, or Industrial Mechanic.

  • 5 years post-qualification experience.

  • In-depth familiarity with mechanics and machine shop practices (lathe & milling machines).

  • Basic welding skills (ARC, TIG, MIG) and electrical experience

  • Strong technical aptitude.

  • Familiarity with PLCs including Siemens S5 & S7, Allen-Bradley SLC 500, Micro Logix, etc.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and 5S standards is an asset.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and multi-task effectively.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The work environment includes a welcoming production floor with cultural flags, an on-site gym, physiotherapist services, and ample team lunches. Dress code is safety-oriented, with company-paid custom ear plugs and prescription safety goggles provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.50/hr.
