Why This Role Is Critical The position is the Leader for a technical support group supporting a complex organization of manufacturing and engineering projects. The Supervisor should be capable of using previous engineering experience and work knowledge to support decision making on a daily and long term planning basis. The technical support organization is comprised of engineers and process specialists responsible for three separate production areas. The position requires consistent attention to detail developed from good planning and communication skills. This position requires direct support of operators in a manufacturing environment. Continuous improvement and data driven decision making are an expectation for the position. Engagement with customers and auditors is required to communicate possible quality issues or provide current production status for Ceramics Product Center. The Ceramics Product Center builds, certifies, and releases ceramics products for commercial nuclear fuel. What You'll Do Day-To-Day Ensures effective performance of engineering assignments. Plans and directs the timely execution of engineering activities, as assigned. Ensures projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies, objectives and customer standards. Ensures adherence to government, organization and customer engineering standards and procedures. Monitors goals, objectives and standards of performance for assigned team members. Works interactively with customers and clients to develop strong relationships. Researches and assesses best practices, proposing methods and improvements. Works on special projects, as directed. Performs other related duties and tasks, as required. Preferred Skills/Knowledge: Engineering work supporting manufacturing. Leadership experience within the nuclear industry. Demonstrated Continuous Improvement application through Lean principles or Operational Excellence structure. Current or previous position where leadership or providing coaching was required. What You'll Bring Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted. Minimum of 7 years of related experience. Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria. Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, management and customers as required. Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment. Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills. Demonstrated leadership ability to manage multiple tasks and projects through subordinates. Strong analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills. Advanced level of specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills. Total Rewards Package Total Rewards Package Salary: $126,000 - $171,000, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
