CTG Mechanical Planner III, Nuclear in Richland, Washington
CTG is seeking to fill a Mechanical Planner III, Nuclear position for our client.
Location: Richland, WA
Duration: 12 months
Duties:
Plan and prepare mechanical work packages for nuclear projects (large and small scale) to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations
Develop detailed job plans including scope, procedures, materials, tooling, ALARA considerations, and resource requirements
Perform field walkdowns to validate work scope, identify hazards, and ensure job readiness
Coordinate parts procurement, staging, and availability of required tools and test equipment
Interface with maintenance, engineering, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and execution readiness
Support both scheduled and emergent work activities through effective prioritization and planning
Lead and monitor maintenance work execution to ensure adherence to procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations
Conduct pre-job and post-job briefings to reinforce human performance standards and continuous improvement
Resolve schedule conflicts, delays, and field execution issues to maximize crew productivity and minimize downtime
Ensure compliance with ALARA principles, nuclear safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Review completed work packages for accuracy, completeness, and proper closeout documentation
Track and improve performance metrics such as maintenance backlog, schedule adherence, productivity, and dose exposure
Provide coaching, feedback, and performance monitoring for maintenance personnel
Support training initiatives, including classroom instruction and on-the-job training evaluations
Participate in emergency response organization activities and collateral duties such as procedure reviews
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Advanced computer proficiency (work management systems, planning tools, and standard office software)
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities in a technical environment
Working knowledge of nuclear power plant work management and planning processes
Understanding of safety regulations in a power plant environment
Knowledge of ALARA principles and radiation protection practices
Familiarity with nuclear security operations, regulations, and compliance requirements
Ability to obtain Planner I qualification
Experience:
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in a technical field such as maintenance, engineering, operations, or maintenance planning (based on education level)
Proven experience in nuclear plant maintenance planning or related discipline preferred
Experience leading or coordinating maintenance craft activities in an industrial or nuclear environment
Demonstrated ability to manage complex work packages and field execution activities
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant technical experience; OR
Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of relevant technical experience; OR
High school diploma or GED with technical training/apprenticeship and six (6) years of relevant technical experience; OR
High school diploma or GED and ten (10) years of relevant technical experience
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered (education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis)
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $76.00 to $83.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
