Hanford Mission Integration Solutions Instrument Specialist (41115) in Richland, Washington

Job Duties/Scope Of Work

Install and maintain highly complex instruments, control systems, and related equipment used to generate, accumulate, and record scientific data from experimental operations and processes. Assemble instrument components into complex workable systems as designed to accomplish stated results. Work from sketches, prints, or oral instructions. May direct others.

NOTE: The hiring process and other aspects of this position are further described in a Memorandum of Agreement between HMIS and IBEW Local 77 entitled "Technical Security Hiring Process".

Basic Qualifications

•High school diploma or GED.

•Must be a current State of Washington licensed 06 Specialty Electrician (Limited Energy System) or be willing to obtain and maintain a 06 Electrical trainee license.

•Electrical 06 Trainees must complete 48 hours of approved training every two years.

•Electrical 06 Trainees must complete 2000 hours of supervised electrical work prior to taking the 06 exam.

•Must be able to qualify as a Radiation Worker.

•Must be able to qualify as an operator of Class 1, 2, 3, and 6 aerial lifts and be capable of working at heights up to 100 feet.

•Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" Security Clearance.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.

Any offer of employment is contingent on the applicant passing a background investigation. As part of the investigation, Federal investigators will examine many aspects of the applicant's past including; financial and criminal histories, mental and emotional health, education and travel, drug (including marijuana) and alcohol usage, personal and organizational relationships, as well as other aspects of the applicant's background.

Desired Qualifications

•Previous experience with installing and maintaining security systems, access control systems and other

low voltage systems.

•Strong background in electronics and understanding of computer systems, networks, and software.

•Working knowledge of formalized Lockout/Tagout program.

•Working knowledge of Electrical Safety Program (NFPA-70E).

•Working knowledge of WAC and RCW codes.

•Proven experience with interpreting technical documentation, including schematics.
