Job Responsibilities/Duties

Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste.

H2C seeks an ETF Shift Operations Supervisor to join the Effluent Treatment Facility (ETF) operations team. The Effluent Treatment Facility is a 24/7 operating radiological facility that receives, treats and disposes of liquid effluents from on-site projects. ETF Operations organization consists of approximately 8 Shift Managers and 40 Operators. This may be a 12hour Dupont Shift or a Day Shift assignment based on the needs of the facility.

The Shift Operations Supervisor will support the Shift Manager (SOM) and/or the Operations Manager focusing on Conduct of Operations, workplace safety and regulatory compliance and focus on the following activities:

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

*Perform Shift Operations Manager (SOM) duties

*Maintain SOM qualification

*Perform Operations Field Work Supervisor (FWS) duties

*Maintain OPS FWS qualification

*Perform work package review

*Conduct pre-job briefings to ensure personnel involved in the work activity are familiar with the precautions, limitations, work scope, hazard controls, and applicable procedures

*Implement Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) principles

*Coordinate the planning and preparation of daily field activities

*Assist in the training of Nuclear Chemical Operators (NCOs)

*Provide planners and Work Week Manager resource needs for field activities

*Communicate plant status and issues to DFLAW management team

*Provide status at "Plan of the Day" and "Plan of the Week" meetings and help update progress and completion, as well as to resolve resource and schedule issues

*Good written and verbal communication skills

*Provide planners and Work Week Manager resource needs for field activities

*Manage assigned Condition Report actions

*Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Grade 18:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; and

  • Five (5) years of related experience required.

Grade 19:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; and

  • Seven (7) years of related experience, with at least one (1) years in a supervisory capacity required.

Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Grade 20:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; and

  • Nine (9) years of related experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with ETF Operations desirable

  • ETF Shift Operations Manager Qualification or ability to obtain desirable.

  • Field Work Supervisor Qualification or ability to obtain desirable.

  • Experience managing HAMTC personnel desirable.

Compensation & Benefits

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Hiring Range Minimum: $109,013

Hiring Range Maximum: $166,263
