Integration Lead – IBM App Connect / IIB

About the role

As an Integration Lead – IBM App Connect (ACE/IIB), you will make an impact by leading the design, development, and delivery of enterprise integration solutions using IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM Integration Bus (IIB). You will be a valued member of the integration team and work collaboratively with architects, developers, QA, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑quality integration services.

In this role, you will:

· Lead the design and development of integration solutions using ACE 11+ and IBM Integration Bus (IIB).

· Apply integration best practices, patterns, and standards across solution design, development, deployment, and testing.

· Develop and maintain message flows, message sets, and DFDLs, ensuring high performance and reliability.

· Create and maintain message transformations using ESQL and support translation across multiple data formats.

· Build, expose, and troubleshoot SOAP and RESTful APIs, including security configurations.

· Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to estimate solutions, resolve complex technical issues, and drive delivery to completion.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Buffalo Grove, IL or Richardson, TX. What you need to have to be considered

· 10+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM Integration Bus (IIB), including experience in a lead role.

· Strong understanding of integration patterns, solution design, estimation, deployment, and testing processes.

· Solid experience with ESQL, message flows, message sets, and DFDLs.

· Working knowledge of IBM MQ, DB2, SOAP and REST Web Services, and security concepts including SSL, WS‑Security, keystores, and trust stores.

· Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex API and integration issues.

· Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

These will help you stand out

· Experience creating Swagger/OpenAPI documentation for RESTful APIs.

· Exposure to advanced integration concepts such as aggregation, collection, resequencing, timeout, and event‑driven mechanisms.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead across teams.

· Relevant IIB or ACE certifications.

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until May 10, 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $83,600- $129,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
