Purchasing Specialist
Location: Reynosa, Tam . / Onsite

BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for developing, negotiating and managing the supplier base to ensure timely supply of materials, components and services at the best total cost, quality and service level, while ensuring business continuity and alignment with KOHLER Procurement Policies and purchasing strategies under the supervision of the Manager Material Control.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with Procurement team to identify strategies and follow up on Global Procurement Policies regarding vendor management in support of the local purchasing and operations requirements of materials, services and supplies under the supervision of the Materials Manager.
Identify, evaluate and develop new local and global suppliers that meets Global Procurement, ethical and regulatory Policies.
Lead sourcing activities including RFQs, RFPs and supplier negotiation contracts to meet local procedures and Globa Procurement Policies.
Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts and supply agreements to support continuous improvement and cost savings initiatives.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Finance, EH&S, Production and planning teams.
Monitor and improve supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost and service).
Identify supply risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data including financial projections and inventory level position in ERP system.
Works with Kohler Mexico and US plants to develop intercompany purchasing synergies for cost savings opportunities.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACS
Supervisory Relationships:
- Reports directly to Materials Control Manager
Organization Relationship:
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Planning, EH&S, Human Resources, Finance and Production teams.
Work closely with Import & Export, Receiving and tool crib teams.
Frequent contact with Corporate Procurement team.
Frequent contact with Legal and Compliance teams
External Business Relationships:
- Frequent and direct contact with Suppliers & LTL carriers.

• Cost Savings and Cost Avoidance identification and participation
• On-time Delivery
• Supplier Performance Metric
• Open PO and Block Invoice Reports track
• Contract and policy compliance
• Inventory levels and Expense projection control
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is valid. However, we prefer the following:
• Bachelor’s degree with 2-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supply chain.
• Manufacturing or industrial environment experience preferred
• Negotiation processes and skills
• Cost Analysis and supplier evaluation
• ERP system knowledge (SAP)
• Team-oriented with a results-driven mindset
• Strong ownership and accountability
• English: intermediate
