Mechanic - Maintenance Department

POSITION SUMMARY: The position is primarily responsible for conducting equipment set-up, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy duty mine production equipment.

Mechanic Starting Pay Range is $31.56/hr $35.08/hr

Maintenance Trainee starting pay range is $31.56/hr $32.04/hr

Mechanic trainee pay starting at $31.56/hr $32.04/hr Full rate mechanic pay up to $35.08/hr OT 1.5x pay after (8) hours in the day and (40) hours in the week. OT 2x pay after (48) hours in the week. Increases provided through electrician training program Eligible for employee bonuses day one Paid Holidays 9 per year PTO Start earning day one Medical Insurance Life Insurance 401(k) match 60% employer match on up to 9% of the employees contribution. 1% match included for being in the union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides emergency /unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, welding, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of heavy-duty mining equipment and other equipment used in the mining process. Reads and interprets industrial equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Comply with MSHA safety and health rules Performs other duties as assigned or needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience, education, and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Must be available to work any shift, weekends, overtime and extended hours as needed

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Candidates must have open availability to work a 40-hours workweek with the availability to work any shift, including mandatory Saturday schedules when necessary

The employee must routinely inspect and/or work on heavy machinery, which may require them to climb up into engines or into the cabs of said machinery, of up to ten (10) feet in height. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position is required to work in an area that is dusty and that may expose an individual to occasional diesel fumes. In addition, work surfaces under feet may include solid concrete, be uneven, contain heaves, boulders, and other aggregate material that could cause unstable footing and that would require an individual to stand upon for at least eight (8) hours per day or at least forty (40) hours per week.
