Meet the team

Join Cisco’s Enterprise AI team, the core group enabling Generative AI powered experiences across Cisco. Our mission is to build secure, scalable AI platforms that empower teams to safely develop, deploy, and operationalize AI-powered solutions. We operate at the intersection of applied AI, cloud infrastructure and security - partnering across engineering, security, compliance, and product teams to bring trusted AI to life at enterprise scale.

We are a fast-growing, highly collaborative team of platform engineers, AI engineers, and data scientists who value technical depth, ownership, and pragmatic execution. What makes this team exciting is the opportunity to define how secure Generative AI is built and governed inside a global technology leader.

Your Impact

Design, build, and maintain high-performance native iOS and Android applications using Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose, while sharing business logic across platforms via Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP/KMM). This role serves as the primary mobile interface for our enterprise AI platform.

  • Design and Architect High-Performance Native Applications

  • Share domain, data, and networking logic across platforms using Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP/KMM), while keeping all UI layers fully native per platform

  • Design and Architect High-Performance Native Applications

  • Build native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack

  • Build native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI

Integrate Advanced AI Workflows

  • Connect mobile clients (iOS and Android) to backend agentic frameworks (e.g., LangGraph), ensuring seamless execution on mobile devices

Develop Intelligent Chat Interfaces

  • Move beyond standard text input by incorporating multi-modal capabilities and proactive UI components that respond to real-time data implemented natively on both platforms

Optimize Data Synchronization and Local Persistence

  • Handle large-scale datasets using Core Data or SwiftData on iOS, and equivalent Android persistence solutions (e.g., Room) on Android, with shared data logic abstracted through KMP where applicable

Collaborate on Prompt Engineering Strategies

  • Partner with AI teams on mobile-specific prompt engineering, ensuring LLM responses are formatted and optimized for small-screen interactions and mobile-first user journeys on both platforms

Maintain Technical Excellence

  • Produce comprehensive documentation of the mobile architecture, KMP module structure, API integrations, and state management logic to ensure team scalability across both platforms

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field and 4+ years of professional experience in native iOS development using Swift and SwiftUI

  • 2+ years of professional experience in native Android development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose

  • Hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP/KMM) for sharing business logic (domain, data, networking layers) across iOS and Android while maintaining native UIs

  • Experience integrating GenAI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or internal LLM gateways) into mobile applications on one or both platforms

  • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming (Async/Await, Combine on iOS; Coroutines/Flow on Android) and networking protocols (REST, WebSockets, gRPC) for real-time AI streaming

  • Demonstrated expertise in mobile UI/UX principles, specifically in creating intuitive interfaces for complex data or chat-based workflows across both platforms

  • Strong technical writing skills with a commitment to documenting code, architectural decisions, and API contracts

Preferred Qualifications

On-Device AI Experience:

  • iOS: Familiarity with CoreML and Apple Intelligence APIs.

  • Android: Familiarity with Google ML Kit, MediaPipe, or local LLM execution on Android.

  • Cross-platform: Experience with local LLM execution strategies abstracted via KMP

Cloud Integration:

  • Knowledge of GCP-based mobile services (Firebase, Google Cloud Functions) and BigQuery integration applicable to both iOS and Android clients

Agentic Framework Knowledge:

  • Understanding of LangGraph or LangChain concepts to better collaborate with backend AI engineers
