Accrued time is available for immediate use; prorated first year Position The Assembler works according to task time on a moving line or bench, performing finish assembly processes to mass-produce commercial aircraft composite products. The individual is experienced, semi-skilled worker who operates machines, factory-related processing equipment, or vehicles. Has acquired skills from training and work experience, has limited autonomy, and works under moderate supervision. Achieves competency with skills assigned to this level. Responsibilities Follow job traveler instructions to assemble parts using small hand tools, bonding adhesives and assembly jigs. Hand wraps insulation blankets, using utility knives, foam insulation, and insulation tape. Performs light sanding and abrading of composite, plastic, and some metal components. May perform some light riveting using rivet squeezes and pop rivet guns. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Required Qualifications Fine hand motor skills. Strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skill both written and verbal. Self- motivated and quick learner. Basic math skills. Preferred Qualifications Understanding of process specifications. Bonding experience. Ability to utilize measuring equipment, including scales and calipers. Small Tools Education High School Diploma/GED preferred. Experience Two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred. Working Conditions While performing the typical duties of this job, employees will experience the conditions noted below. PPE is provided to protect employees against physical harm or hazards in the workplace environment. Usually work indoors.
