Our 12-bed facility supports both inpatient and outpatient care through integrated laboratory services
Position Overview: We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of improving patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for those we serve. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting patient care by performing laboratory tests and analyses that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. This position requires a strong understanding of clinical laboratory procedures, excellent people skills, and the ability to work independently and efficiently in an acute care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests on patient specimens, including blood, urine, and other bodily fluids.
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection processing with precision to ensure accurate results.
- Analyze test results and provide data to physicians for diagnostic purposes.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality control measures to maintain a sterile environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in patient care decisions.
- Document all test results accurately in the laboratory information system.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology and procedures.
- Participate in hospital Quality Assurance program.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical laboratory practices.
- Experience in blood banking.
- Strong data analysis skills with attention to detail for accurate reporting of results.
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare staff.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
