SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Department Manager/Director, this position provides the configuration, installation, maintenance, backup, and support for enterprise application and Systems.
This position is responsible for a complex Healthcare System application environment that changes rapidly to meet the changing requirements of a growing enterprise of applications. This position is challenged with providing a reliable, flexible, and cost-effective system environment.
The Applications Administrator performs requirement's gathering to understand the needs of each request to accurately assess configuration and total cost of ownership. The Applications Administrator will coordinate the install of hardware, where applicable, operating system where applicable and application as requested for any application. Once installed, this position performs complex system configurations such as: monitoring, patching, upgrades, resources to ensure proper operation, as well as backup of data files to ensure continuity of services. Works with vendors to assist support activities such as: disaster and recovery process, application patching, license yields, applications access, application growth.
MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Requires Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Computer Science. Requires knowledge of computer hardware, software, peripherals, and database development. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis. Requires at least eight years' experience working in client/server computing environment and minimum of eight years' experience working with W-intel-based servers and server management. Requires five years' experience as a Systems or Applications Administrator. Background in healthcare environment is preferred. None MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA preferred. Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
