SUMMARY:
This
OR RN
opportunity is full time and offers a convenient day shift schedule. This individual will provide direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and pain management inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities. Assesses operating room / procedure room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.
MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Nevada.
- Previous experiencein an outpatient OR setting or in an acute care setting in the OR preferred .
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
- Provides communication between team members in the surgical field and person outside the OR
- Informs charge nurse of case progress and reports any unusual circumstances
- Obtains needed supplies and equipment for each specific procedure
- Verifies suctions, lights, and other needed equipmentfor proper functioning
