Your role at Clorox:
The Shift Manager leads daily production, processing, and packaging operations to ensure the highest standards of safety, food safety, quality, and performance. This role drives shift execution to meet production targets, ensures strict compliance with GMPs and safety protocols, and leads problem‑solving and continuous improvement initiatives. With oversight of up to 30 employees, the Shift Manager provides hands‑on leadership on the floor, develops team capabilities, and fosters a strong culture centered on safety, food safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
Safety & Compliance
Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Champion a strong safety and food safety culture across all shift operations.
Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
Conduct timely investigations of safety and quality incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Operational Excellence
Utilize structured problem‑solving tools to resolve operational issues and prevent recurrence.
Lead and support OPEX implementation and sustainment.
Execute strategies to achieve shift goals in safety, food safety, quality, OEE, schedule adherence, and cost.
Ensure production lines run efficiently while producing safe, high‑quality products.
Performance Analysis & Adjustment
Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly performance of packaging lines.
Monitor Schedule Attainment and adjust plans based on downtime, material availability, demand shifts, and staffing.
Communicate and align with other Shift Managers to ensure consistent standards and expectations across shifts.
Continuous Improvement
Lead centerlines, CILs (Cleaning, Inspection, Lubrication), abnormality tracking, SOP improvements, and Job Instruction Breakdown (JIB) development.
Coach team leads and employees to strengthen capability and performance.
Promote open communication and proactive action regarding food safety concerns and continuous improvement.
Personnel Management
Train, coach, evaluate, and develop shift employees with an emphasis on food safety, quality, and service.
Manage payroll, schedules, and vacation planning for direct reports.
Maintain a visible leadership presence on the production floor.
Supervise up to 40 team members in partnership with team leads.

What we look for:
Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and develop teams
Advanced problem‑solving skills, including DPS, A3, or similar methodologies
Solid understanding of food safety principles, GMPs, and regulatory requirements
Ability to analyze production data and adjust operations to meet targets
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across shifts and functions
Ability to drive continuous improvement and sustain standardized work systems
Strong decision‑making and prioritization in fast‑paced environments
Experience in manufacturing or food processing operations
Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment
Experience with Lean or similar operational systems
Proven track record of leading teams to meet safety, quality, and production goals

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $88,700 - $165,900
–Zone B: $81,300 - $152,100
–Zone C: $73,900 - $138,300

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
