SUMMARY:

The purpose of the IT Junior System Administrator role is to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the HOPES organization's computer networks.

Northern Nevada HOPES is a Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient Centered Medical Home.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Due to real and potential conflicts of interest that exist when HOPES Behavioral Health providers render services to their coworkers, it is HOPES' policy (Policy HR0005) that HOPES employees may not access HOPES Behavioral Health Services. For the same reason, current Behavioral Health patients/clients cannot be employed by HOPES. Accordingly, you hereby acknowledge and understand that if you are receiving services from a HOPES Behavioral Health provider at the time you are offered and accept employment with HOPES, you have the option of rescinding your acceptance of employment or finding a new behavioral health provider outside of HOPES before starting employment with HOPES.

  • Familiarity with LAN/WAN concepts preferred; equivalent coursework or hands-on exposure accepted

  • Knowledge of public health principles and practice, primarily health data privacy and security standards required
  • Knowledge of anti-virus, email and anti-spam systems required
  • Ability to effectively present information in small group situations to patients, Center staff, and the general public required
  • Experience with EMR and data management preferred; willingness to learn required
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required
  • Familiarity with firewalls, switches and routers required
  • EMR experience preferred

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

TheIT Junior System Administratorsupports the maintenance and daily operation of the HOPES organizations network infrastructure, including hardware, software, and communication systems, under the guidance of senior IT staff. This role assists in sustaining a secure, reliable, and high-performing network environment that enables seamless communication and data transfer across the organization while supporting security and compliance requirements. The IT Junior System Administrator assists in the management of information and telecommunication technology at the center, provides technical support to staff as directed, and escalates complex issues appropriately. HOPES has an integrated team model approach to patient care. Key areas of support include Help Desk Tickets, network maintenance, Virtual Machine support, and participation in server and infrastructure tasks as assigned. As quality is every employees responsibility, the IT Junior System Administrator is required to uphold all standards and policies, and participate in quality improvement processes and meetings.
