Job Title: Steel room- Brake Press Operator

Location: Main Facility - Building 1

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The Press Brake Operator will use a press brake to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Setup and document tooling
• Verify accuracy and machine settings to confirm accurate tolerances and machine functions
• Maintain accurate parts and motivation on routine repetitive jobs
• Operator will maintain all required tolerances and quality
• Proving programs, operating controls, setting all machine functions, deburring, and inspection of parts to assure conformance will be required
• Work from drawings and sketches, read and understand blueprints, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished product
• Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjusts machine within capabilities, report all machine malfunctions to Supervisors
• Ability to calculate, blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage and tooling for each part being formed
• Use overhead crane to move material for forming.
• Regular maintenance of machine and general housekeeping of work area
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions/Physical Demands:

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and use buddy system or equipment for heavier weights.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Employee is required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Employee is required to used hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• Employee is required to reach with hands and arms.
• Employee is required to talk or hear

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, employees work near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions.
• Employees are exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals
• Noise level in the work environment is high.

Required Skills:

• Ability to read tape measure
• Ability to read blueprints
• High School Diploma
