This is an IT helpdesk tier 2 analyst / software engineer position supporting an order entry and inventory management system. Responsibilities include intake of IT tickets, investigation, and solution documentation. This position works as a liaison between the business users of the application and the IT Development team for the application. This position will also be responsible for coding, testing, documenting, and troubleshooting Java web applications for sales and operations teams.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Under general direction, performs analysis, design, implementation and maintenance activities in various areas of IT.

  • Conducts feasibility studies, prepares reports, records progress and creates solutions to IT problems/issues.

  • Applies the concepts of appropriate standard methodologies and best practices with little feedback and supervision.

  • Applies principles, concepts and practices of the IT Competency Model at the Analyst level.

  • Proactively enforces worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protected.

  • Support deployment and other system activities.

  • Create working code from technical specifications.

  • Unit testing and system testing code before release to user testing.

  • Perform and participate in code reviews with peers.

  • Assist support team in troubleshooting issues as needed.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Database design and administration knowledge preferred.

  • Experience with SQL preferred.

  • Knowledge of computer programming is a plus.

  • Experience with application support software preferred (incident reporting, testing, etc.).

  • Required technical skills:

  • Java

  • Angular or GWT front end development

  • GIT

  • Desired technical skills:

  • Spring Boot/JPA/Hibernate

  • Kubernetes/Docker

  • REST or SOAP web services

  • Oracle or other database

Your Background

  • Minumum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 2+ years development experience for applications in a business environment.

  • Database design and administration knowledge.

  • Experience with SQL.

  • Knowledge of computer programming.

  • Experience with application support software preferred (incident reporting, testing, etc.).

  • Technical IT certifications.

  • Experience with web or backend development.

Travel Expectations

Less than 10%

Expected Compensation Range

$64,000 - $80,000 USD/Annual
