What You Can Expect
Supports and advances the company's regenerative medicine strategy, with a focus on upstream joint repair across Knee, Shoulder, and Foot & Ankle applications. Serves as the internal scientific and strategic resource for this emerging space, bringing analytical rigor and scientific depth to inform decision-making. Contributes expertise across market assessment, scientific due diligence, and investment evaluation in support of Business Development and senior leadership. Engages credibly with surgeons, researchers, KOLs, and venture partners, translating deep scientific knowledge and clinical literature into well-grounded analyses and recommendations. Supports a structured approach to portfolio development within the regenerative medicine landscape.
How You'll Create Impact
Support the development of the company's regenerative medicine strategy within the joint repair space, conducting rigorous landscape assessments, including competitive intelligence, technology scouting, clinical literature review, and emerging science evaluation
Translate scientific and clinical insights into clear, evidence-based analyses and recommendations that contribute to the team's strategic roadmap and investment priorities across relevant modalities such as biologics, cell therapy, and tissue engineering
Identify and track a pipeline of early-stage investment opportunities, including venture-stage assets in late-stage development or early commercialization, providing ongoing monitoring and reporting to support portfolio oversight
Lead scientific, clinical, and commercial due diligence on prospective investments and partnerships, developing investment theses, business cases, and diligence summaries for VP review
Evaluate deal frameworks including minority investments, co-development agreements, licensing, and third-party co-investment arrangements, providing structured analysis to support leadership decisions
Identify and cultivate relationships with startups, academic institutions, venture capital firms, and other strategic partners in the regenerative medicine ecosystem, representing the company at relevant conferences and industry forums
Serve as a credible scientific resource in discussions with surgeons, KOLs, researchers, and clinical development teams, translating deep scientific knowledge and clinical literature into well-grounded perspectives that advance external engagement
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across commercial, clinical, regulatory, and finance functions to ensure alignment on strategic priorities, communicating complex scientific and analytical findings clearly to support cross-functional decision-making

Your Background
Preferred Qualification: PhD in a relevant life science or medical discipline strongly preferred; Master's degree with a strong strategic track record will be considered
Preferred Qualification: 10+ years in strategy, business development, or corporate development in life sciences or MedTech
Preferred Qualification: Consulting and/or business development experience
Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree and 10 years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 12 years of relevant experience AMER

This role has a salary range of $187,000-250,000 annually with additional compensation to be earned through bonus opportunity.
