How you’ll make an impact in this role
Audit Records: Perform coder audits based on the established system plan.
Report Results: Distribute audit findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
Strong diagnosis coding in ICD-10 and Risk Adjustments.
Trend Analysis: Identify patterns to find specific educational needs.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.
Education:
- High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
Work Experience:
- 1 year of experience required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
5 or more years of experience in Risk Adjustments, coding and 3 or more years experience in auditing healthcare
CPMA certification
