How you’ll make an impact in this role

  • Audit Records: Perform coder audits based on the established system plan.

  • Report Results: Distribute audit findings to the appropriate stakeholders.

  • Strong diagnosis coding in ICD-10 and Risk Adjustments.

  • Trend Analysis: Identify patterns to find specific educational needs.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentialed from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

  • Reg Health Info Admnstr credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

  • Reg Health Info Tech credentialed from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) preferred. Licensure required relevant to state in which work is performed.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience required.

What additional preferences we're seeking

  • 5 or more years of experience in Risk Adjustments, coding and 3 or more years experience in auditing healthcare

  • CPMA certification
