Job Summary
The Director of Commercial Excellence, APAC will lead the development and execution of strategies to drive commercial performance, sales force effectiveness and profitable growth for Zimmer Biomet APAC. He/ She will drive initiatives to optimize commercial processes, deploy best-in-class tools to enable sales force effectiveness, accelerate adoption of innovative orthopedic solutions, and ensure commercial strategies are tailored to the unique dynamics of the APAC orthopedic market. This is a high-impact role for a commercial leader passionate about advancing orthopedic care and driving growth in one of the world’s most dynamic regions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and execute commercial excellence strategies focusing on market expansion, sales performance, and revenue growth across APAC’s diverse healthcare environment.
Lead sales force effectiveness (SFE) initiatives , including sales planning, enablement, training, analytics, advanced training on new surgical techniques, product launches, and clinical value selling.
Implement standardized commercial processes and digital tools (CRM, sales analytics, incentive compensation, forecasting) to support the complex orthopedic sales cycle and multi-stakeholder decision-making typical in this field.
Collaborate with regional and global teams in marketing, medical education, product management, finance and operations to ensure commercial strategies are aligned with business objectives and market needs.
Analyze market trends and competitive intelligence to inform go-to-market approaches and prioritize high-growth segments.
Champion cross-functional initiatives such as surgeon education programs, clinical evidence generation, and partnerships with key opinion leaders to drive product adoption and differentiation.
Oversee commercial capability development for the sales force, ensuring teams are equipped with the latest clinical knowledge, digital tools, and selling skills for complex, high-value orthopedic solutions.
Monitor and report on commercial KPIs relevant to orthopedics (e.g., procedure adoption rates, market share by indication, surgeon engagement metrics) to drive continuous improvement and accountability [3] .
Lead or support regional transformation projects such as digital health integration, value-based pricing, and new market entry, reflecting the evolving needs of orthopedic care in APAC.

Education/Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial excellence, sales operations, or business leadership roles within orthopedics or broader medical device industry [6] .
Strong track record in driving sales force effectiveness and commercial transformation for orthopedic products in APAC markets.
Deep understanding of orthopedic clinical workflows, product portfolios (implants, surgical instruments, biologics), and the APAC regulatory and reimbursement landscape.
Experience with CRM and sales analytics platforms; knowledge of digital health and data-driven commercial models is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and manage complex, multi-country projects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; fluency in English required, other Asian languages a plus.
