What You Can Expect
The Paralegal Specialist will report directly to Sr Counsel, Privacy and will support the Privacy team. This role will assist in the operationalization of the company's Privacy program including risk assessments, internal communications, training development, and cross-functional coordination.
This role requires foundational understanding of privacy law, a genuine interest in the legal field, and the ability to translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable guidance for diverse business audiences. This role does not require a licensed attorney and is well-suited for a recent graduate or early career professional with a background in law, legal studies, or a related field.
It offers meaningful exposure to a broad range of privacy, AI governance, and risk management matters within a dynamic, fast-paced legal environment.
How You'll Create Impact
Translate complex legal and privacy-related information into clear, accessible guidance, policies, and processes for diverse audiences across the business
Conduct and facilitate privacy risk assessments within risk and case management system(s), supporting system efficacy, process compliance, and driving timely completion of assessments Develop privacy-related training materials, presentations, and playbooks for internal audiences
Support the Privacy team in managing internal communications related to privacy education and requirements, in coordination with Communications partners, across various internal platforms
Act as a liaison between the Privacy team and cross-functional partners, including the broader Legal team, Communications, and other business functions
Support Privacy team projects and initiatives as needed
Assist attorneys and Legal team members with the execution of day-to-day legal matters and administrative tasks
What Makes You Stand Out
Foundational knowledge of and genuine interest in Privacy law, Artificial Intelligence governance, and Risk Management principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to translate intricate legal and regulatory information into accessible, audience-appropriate language and formats
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to independently manage assignments from start to finish Strong responsiveness and follow-through, a sense of urgency, and consistently accurate execution to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
High level of integrity with a consistent ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information
Your Background
Bachelor's degree or regional equivalent with a focus in Legal Studies or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered
Must have a foundational understanding Privacy, Artificial Intelligence, Risk Management principles Familiarity of risk and case management tools (OneTrust, Audit Board, ServiceNow) strongly preferred
Familiarity with data incident response management preferred
IAPP certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) preferred; candidates actively pursuing certification will also be considered
Proficiency in English (written and verbal) required
International Association of Privacy Professionals Certification (Preferred)
Travel Expectations
- Rare overnight domestic or international (continentally or intercontinentally) travel may be required (less than 5% annually)
