The role of this position is to assist the Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Site Superintendents and Senior Vice President Build on all projects developed by NewGround.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist Estimator to prepare and submit budget estimates.
• Assist Estimator to conduct bid process; develop bid categories & work packages
• Assist Estimator to conduct material take-offs, procure supplier pricing, research local trades in specific project areas.
• Assist Estimator to evaluate & follow up with Trade Bids & Bid requests.
• Review Bid results with Estimator to inform and update our estimating database.
• Work with Estimator to keep estimate/budget templates updated and improved on a regular basis.
• Assist Estimator with Trade procurement and follow up for active tendering and budgets
• Assist with scheduling updates and distribution to team members.
• Organize and distribute as required project documents internally (Procore and NG servers, keeping them current) (Change Orders, Site Instructions, Shop Drawings, etc.)
• Prepares and distributes accurate and detailed meeting minutes promptly
• Request, organize, follow up and distribute submittals via Procore
• Assist Site Superintendents on site as required.
• Coordinate material orders / deliveries as required
• Prepare Trade quotes for PO's/Contracts for review
• Assist on Deficiency walk throughs by preparing and distributing deficiency items via Procore.
• Assists with providing final document turnover to the client at the completion of the project.
• Maintains project awareness to keep the Project Manager and others informed about status and potential project issues.
• Provide other technical office support as required by the project team, as assigned or as apparent
EXPECTATIONS
• Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in a construction-related discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in a project support role, preferably with an ICI General Contractor or subcontractor. Estimating experience beneficial but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret contract specifications, drawings, and other construction documents.
• Willing to work long hours if needed
• Willing to travel as required to project locations
• Willing to accept all assigned work
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and stay on top of things as the project demands increase.
• Maintain a positive can-do attitude, self motivated and works well independently
• Able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Communicate & collaborate effectively with NG team, consultants and trades on a professional level
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Design, Environmental Graphics, Digital, Furniture, etc.) at various stages of a project life cycle (sales, estimating, procurement and build)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word, Procore, and Scheduling software.
• Ability to deal with internal and external team members and clients courteously and professionally
