Quality Manager:
My client precision, complex CNC machining and assembly, serving the Aerospace and Defense industries. We are seeking an experienced and driven Quality Manager to lead our quality operations in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment.
Position Overview
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the quality function, ensuring compliance with industry standards, driving continuous improvement, and leading a team of quality professionals. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and provide daily direction to quality inspectors and department personnel
Hire, train, develop, and evaluate quality team members
Coach inspectors on proper inspection methods, processes, and techniques
Manage staffing schedules and oversee departmental overtime budgets
Oversee selection, calibration, and maintenance of inspection equipment, including CMMs, gauges, and other tools
Develop and implement inspection plans and in-process control strategies
Support production teams with measurement activities and scrap reduction initiatives
Establish quality metrics and drive continuous improvement efforts
Review customer contracts to ensure quality requirements are met
Lead Material Review Board (MRB) activities and ensure proper disposition of nonconforming materials
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems
Monitor inspector performance metrics and conduct evaluations
Manage customer quality issues, including escapes, DMRs, complaints, RMAs, and corrective/preventive actions
Minimum Qualifications
3–5 years of experience working with AS9100 standards (required)
Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
At least 5 years of machining experience
3–5 years of leadership experience managing teams of 5–15 employees
Strong knowledge of GD&T and a wide range of measurement techniques
Proven analytical skills, including data analysis and visualization
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Six Sigma certification preferred
Ability to obtain security clearance - Base pay$100k-$130k with a bonus and complete insurance package including health, life, dental and vision insurance including 401k match and PTO.
Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
